Despite an overcast start to the day, the sun shone brightly throughout for the 2000 riders taking part in the annual Isle of Wight Randonnee cycle event yesterday (Sunday).
Riders took to their saddles for a 09:00 start, taking in the Island’s views in a clockwise direction with a choice of either a 100km or 55km ride, choosing one of six checkpoints to start from.
The randonnee was established by the Wayfarers in 1985 and uniquely follows a route around the whole of the Isle of Wight taking minor roads and lanes, where possible, enabling the rider to see and enjoy the best of the Island’s scenery.
